Hebrews 10:19–22 (ESV) - 19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

1. The Blood from His Brow Paid for PEACE

Luke 22:44 (ESV) — 44 And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

• He sweat drops of blood, hematidrosis, caused by extreme anguish.
• Imagine the weight on Christ, the anxiety of what was coming, it was gruesome. 
• HE PAID FOR YOUR PEACE! 

Next time you feel anxious, think about how Christ lived through anxiety and paid the way for peace.

2. The Blood from His Back Paid for HEALING

Matthew 8:16–17 (NLT) - 16 That evening many demon-possessed people were brought to Jesus. He cast out the evil spirits with a simple command, and he healed all the sick. 17 This fulfilled the word of the Lord through the prophet Isaiah, who said, “He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases.”

• Healing is massive in scope, physical, emotional, relational, psychological. This wound covers everyone in the room.
• For those battling with sickness, see his back being beaten and acknowledge, he has borne my sickness!

3. The Blood from His Head Paid for AUTHORITY

Matthew 27:29 (NLT) — 29 They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!”

• The human story is one of lost dominion.
• The thorns represented the curse of the fall.
• The thorns on Jesus’ head
  • They beat the thorns into his head to make a crown. The crown of thorns was mockery , “You think you’re a king?” But they were accidentally crowning the actual King.
• His head brought us authority
  • The next time you feel cast down, downtrodden, brought to the dirt, remember he paid for your authority!

4. The Blood from His Face Paid for DIGNITY

Isaiah 50:6 (NLT) — 6 I offered my back to those who beat me and my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard. I did not hide my face from mockery and spitting.

• This wasn't part of the crucifixion process. There was no strategic purpose. It was pure humiliation. Just people deciding to make him feel like nothing.
• His face brought us dignity.
• HE PAID FOR YOUR DIGNITY! The shame you carry, the embarrassment that still stings, the way certain memories make you want to shrink — he absorbed all of it so you could walk with your head up.
• The next time you feel ashamed, like you don’t even want to go into public because you think people will mock, or you feel ashamed to come into the presence of God because of your sin, remember the battered face of Christ. He paid for your dignity!

5. The Blood from His Hands Paid for FORGIVINESS

Colossians 2:14–15 (NLT) — 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

• That word canceled is an accounting term. It means paid in full. Stamped. Done.
• His hands brought us forgiveness.
• HE PAID FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS! The next time you feel unworthy, remember, so was the thief on the cross, so was Barabas, so are you, BUT HE PAID FOR IT!

6. The Blood from His Feet Paid for RETURN

Isaiah 53:6 (NLT) — 6 All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all.

• His feet were pinned to that cross — stopped — so that the prodigal could come home. So that the long walk back could end with a Father running toward you.
• His feet brought us wholeness.
• HE PAID FOR YOUR WHOLENESS! The rebellion, the wandering, the choices you made that took you far from home — his feet were nailed down so yours could find the way back. And the Father is already running.

7. The Blood from His Side Paid for ACCESS

John 19:34–35 (NLT) — 34 One of the soldiers, however, pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out. 35 (This report is from an eyewitness giving an accurate account. He speaks the truth so that you also may continue to believe.)

• The last wound wasn't the final suffering. It was the final opening. His heart was literally pierced — opened — so that you could have access to the heart of God.
• His side brought us access.
• HE PAID FOR YOUR ACCESS! The distance you feel from God, the sense that you're too far gone, that he couldn't possibly want you after everything — his side was pierced to open a door straight to the Father. And it has never closed.
