Fear Not

Fear has a way of convincing us that the worst is inevitable. It steals our peace, paralyzes our faith, and keeps us focused on everything that could go wrong. But throughout Scripture, God repeatedly tells His people, "Fear not." Why? Because faith isn't just believing God can, it’s learning to trust Him enough to move forward with courage, peace, and confidence.

1. “Faith is fear-less”

Joshua 1:9 (Amp): “ Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” GOD WOULD NOT TELL US TO DO SOMETHING THAT WE CANNOT DO.
“Be strong and very courageous.” “Cour” in French is “heart.” “Courage” is “heartage.” Courage strengthens your heart. You can’t just “stop having fear.” (Or thinking of a pink elephant). You have to fill your heart with courage and it displaces fear.
Jesus told people to “TAKE courage.”
1. Healing for the man let down through the roof.
2. Healing for the woman with the issue of blood.
3. Jairus: “FEAR NOT, only believe, and she will be well.”

2. “Faith is ACT-ive”

“Faith is an ACT.” ACT as though what God told you in the Word is true.
1. David RAN toward a nine foot tall man, totally fearless and courageous.
2. When we ACT in faith, FEAR runs away. Faith is active, fear is passive.
Namaan: “Go, wash in the Jordan.” Blind man: “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam.” Pool of Siloam: “Take up your bed and walk.” Ten Lepers: “Go, show yourself to the priest.” He told me to help my son move to two states away when I was on a walker and had 30 days to live.
ACTION: Joshua walked around Jericho. Peter walked on water. Jesus blessed a few biscuits and two sardines and fed 5000. When God tells you to do something, don’t let fear stop you.

3. Faith is peace-ful

Ps. 23:1-6:
1. “Makes me lie down in green pastures, leads me by still waters, leads me in the paths of righteousness”—Do you feel any fear in that? Jesus is my Shepherd and I am resting in His leadership.
2. “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil…”—It doesn’t mean that we never go through some fearful environments.
3. “He prepares a TABLE in the presence of my enemies”—God is serving you a “Fear not filet with a far above appetizer and a love of Christ Gumbo!”
4. “He anoints my head with oil…my cup runs over”—Being filled to overflowing with the Spirit gives me victory over fear.
Ps 34:4: “I sought the Lord and He answered me and delivered me from ALL MY FEARS.” (Heights, spiders, diseases, accident, bankruptcy, violence.). There are over 500 named individual phobias!
Phil. 4:6-7: “Do not be ANXIOUS about ANYTHING, but in everything by prayer and supplication with THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known to God. And the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all UNDERSTANDING, will guard your HEARTS and your MINDS in Christ Jesus.”
